The Marine Service Advisor is responsible for coordinating and managing the marina service department workflow. This includes working with the customer throughout the service process to ensure the work is completed to exceed the customer’s expectations and within the outlined timeframe. The Service Advisor will also work directly with the boat technicians responsible for completing the work to ensure that they have the proper information and parts needed to complete the task in a timely manner.

Key Tasks

  • Greet customers professionally both in-person and by phone, and determine how our business can best serve them
  • Work with service customers to obtain all necessary information to complete a detailed description, outline, and quotation of work to be performed
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the service department including scheduling and distributing work orders for technicians
  • Work closely with technicians to ensure they have the necessary parts and tools to complete a task within the outlined timeframe
  • Coordinate with manufacturers to achieve approval for outstanding warranty work prior to work being completed
  • Cashier and close work orders when work is completed and assist service management in achieving monthly production financial benchmarks
  • Inspect the quality of work performed
  • Communicate with the customer throughout the repair process via email, telephone, and digital text and video walkthroughs through the Boatyard platform
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Key Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar)
  • Experience with Dealer Management Software, Preferably Lightspeed
  • Customer Service Experience in Related Field
  • Two years or more of experience as a service advisor in marine, automotive, powersports, or related industry strongly preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
