The Valiant 39 is the progressive advancement of the Valiant 37, sharing the look and styling of its legendary predecessor. Significantly, the Valiant 39 deck features a cockpit that is completely wrapped with an offshore coaming for both comfort and safety. Seating areas are fully guttered. An expanded, recessed propane storage system is included. The frontal portion of the cabin trunk is contoured in its transition to the foredeck. The deck design provides for maximum flexibility, while the below deck volume is increased and there are no predetermined locations for the hatches, port lights and companionway. There are enough variations within the interior arrangements of the Valiant 39 to offer an almost unlimited choice to the customer. The Valiant 39CE or "Center Entry," provides for a more open interior, and yet allows for a true three-cabin layout. The head is located aft and the two separate staterooms greatly enhance below-deck livability. The Valiant 39 features a double spreader rig, which is matched with a short bowsprit to maximize sailing efficiency. Among the critical components built into every Valiant yacht are an externally-ballasted, lead keel; one-piece, hand-laid hull; and externally flanged, through-bolted hull-to-deck joints. From the first Valiant we ever built, only U.S. Navy specifications have been used to lay-up our hulls and decks. This lay-up schedule produces a solid fiberglass hull that is the strongest one-piece hull in the world. The deck lay-up includes end grain balsa core with high-density foam in certain specific areas. The entire boat, including all of the bonds, cockpit hatches, engine bed stringers and floor timbers is laid up of 100 percent isophthalic resin of the highest quality. All of the resin used in Valiants is hand-batched in one gallon increments to eliminate any possibility of improper machine catalization.
