Retail Store Associate

Looking for a very outgoing, energetic, hardworking and SALES ORIENTED individual to assist with Customer Service, Selling, Store Operations, Merchandising, Administrative Support and more…Provide high quality customer service and sales support in a professional manner.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greets and assist customers with all aspects of sales and customer service
  • Assists customers with locating products. Explains product features and benefits
  • Answer phones, address caller’s questions and transfer calls as necessary.
  • Processes boat reservation and registration requests
  • Educate customers on marina products and services and promote and encourage sales.
  • Processes register transactions. Assists in taking store inventory.
  • Checks delivered items against packing slip, ensure accuracy, assists in store inventory.
  • Alerts manager to any inventory or product delivery discrepancies.
  • Restocks items and pulls expired or out of date items from the shelves.
  • Assist with merchandising and ensure store is neat and organized
  • Guide and direct customers to other marina personnel and departments as necessary.
  • Reports any issues or concerns to manager. Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Maintains a friendly and open demeanor at all times.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively. Works well with a team.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of the Ship’s Store products and marina operations.
  • Possesses basic math skills and exhibits excellent phone etiquette.
  • Pays attention to detail and demonstrates ability to learn quickly.
  • Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug /alcohol/screen

Seasonal Dock Attendant

Responsible for representing the marina in a professional and courteous manner, serving as the face of the marina to many customers. Provide prompt and the highest level of customer service at all times while maintaining a clean and welcoming dock. Please note the Manitowoc Marina is open 7 days a week and this job will require working weekends.

  • Greets all customers in a prompt and courteous fashion
  • Maintain a professional image consistent with our commitment to customer service at all times
  • Fuels customer boats and processes sales transactions
  • Pumps out customer boats and processes transactions
  • Assist slip customers with arrival and departure, line handling and related activities.
  • Prepare rental kayaks for customer use, conduct customer orientation on kayak use, assist customer with arrival and departure. Upon arrival check kayak for damage, missing equipment and that everything is in working order. Note any deviations on kayak work order form. Store kayaks in trailer. Become knowledgeable in entire Hobie Kayak line
  • Make hourly dock checks
  • Follows all safety precautions and procedures at all times
  • Keep docks and grounds neat, orderly and clean
  • Cleaning and tidying buildings (including washrooms when no cleaner is on duty), docks, fish cleaning station and the marina site to maintain a high standard of hygiene and appearance
  • Perform assigned building and grounds activities.
  • Offer personable and efficient service to customers so as to enhance the reputation of the marina
  • Maintain the gas dock and surrounding area to be orderly, safe, and clean
  • Be protective of the environment, avoiding gas and oil spills, as well as litter
  • Assist other Manitowoc Marina personnel and perform other related duties as assigned

Due to significant growth in boat sales Manitowoc Marina seeking a Yacht broker to join our team in either Manitowoc or Marinette WI. Lines represented include Axopar, X-Yachts, Brabus Marine, Cutwater, Rossiter and Starcraft. Manitowoc Marina also brokers used boats. This is a full-time yacht broker that will be responsible for generating new leads, identifying business opportunities, and maintaining positive customer relationships.

How you’ll lead:

  • Utilize Manitowoc Marina sales tools, including CRM, for daily follow up and prospecting for new customers, as well as communication on a regular basis with existing clients
  • Maintain precise client records, diligently inputting and maintaining an accurate and comprehensive database
  • Acquire full knowledge of product lines, including all standard features, accessories, and options
  • Secure quality listings with quality photos for input in Yacht World and BoatWizard
  • Successfully achieve sales targets and objectives
  • Secure quality brokerage listings
  • Familiarize yourself on a daily basis for what boats are currently available and their selling price
  • Actively support and participate in boat shows, on-site and off-site special events, and displays
  • Precisely quote pricing to clients, including taxes, freight, trade-in allowance, fees, and requirements for financing
  • Understanding of all yacht sales transaction regulations and contracts
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Knowledge of yachts and experience in the marine industry preferred
  • Self-disciplined, motivated, and organized
  • Other duties, as directed

Work with Service Manager to oversee customer satisfaction, shop productivity, safety, organization and cleanliness as it relates to electronic repairs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install electrical components, equipment, or systems
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and software.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts, wiring and relays in ignition, navigation, lighting, hvac, power generation and safety control systems.
  • Adjust electronic equipment (including software updates) to ensure optimal performance
  • Confer with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions.
  • Estimate costs of repairs based on parts and labor requirements.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, and fuse holders, using electric drills and routers.
  • Follows all safety precautions and procedures at times.
  • Monitors shop supply inventory and orders as needed
  • Ensures that tools are organized, accounted for and maintained. Responsible for maintaining company equipment
  • Meets with service manager daily to review workflow
  • Informs service manager of issues pertaining to deviations from standard on repair cost, quality or timeliness
  • Treat all employees and customers with the courtesy and respect they deserve
  • Communicates with customers on technical issues as needed
  • Helps test customer boats to ensure repairs were performed correctly
  • Follows manufacturer warranty policies and procedures
  • Review all recalls, service bulletins and product updates
  • Attends training seminars as needed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in the marine industry specific to area of electronics
  • Ability to communicate at a high level, both verbally and in writing
  • Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process driven with excellent leadership skills
  • Have a valid state driver’s license

Manitowoc Marina is looking for an experienced Marine Mechanic to become a member of its growing service department. As a Marine Mechanic you will be involved in all aspects of troubleshooting and repair. The ideal candidate will have at least five – seven years’ experience as a marine repair technician, possess vendor certifications from marine equipment manufacturers and industry organizations and be efficient and thorough at the same time. Specific tasks include diagnosis and troubleshooting, repair and maintenance, complete overhaul, repowering of engines and generators, set-up and commissioning of electronic control systems, replacement or repair of related components and systems, etc. We are looking for an individual with a great attitude, enthusiasm for their profession and focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examines boat and effectively communicate the nature of repair to customer and/or Service Mgr
  • Provide customer timely estimates as requested
  • Review work orders to determine work to be performed.
  • Perform diagnostics and repair of all types of marine engines and transmissions/drives/generators/air conditioning systems.
  • Disassemble and inspect parts for wear
  • Overhaul or replace carburetors blowers, generators, distributors, starters, pumps, electrical and fuel systems.
  • Rebuild parts such as engine cylinder blocks
  • Repair 12V electrical boat systems e.g., bilge pumps/float switches, lighting, live wells, etc.
  • Rewire ignition system, lights and instrument panel
  • Install and repair accessories such as radios and marine electronics
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certifications from ABYC, NMEA and various marine equipment manufacturers would be beneficial
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Must have the proper tools to perform the trade
  • Proficient in the use of computers and diagnostic tools.
  • Possess a valid US driver’s license.
  • Experience in all areas of boat repair and maintenance.
  • Experience in safe operation of boats.
  • Must have Excellent time management skills
