Reports to: Service Manager
We are currently seeking a sailboat rigger. Candidates must have comprehensive knowledge of sailboat rigging, be a team player, and adept at problem solving.

Qualifications:

  • Boat handling, equipment handling, and sailing experience preferred
  • Knowledge to inspect, repair and install sail rigging and related equipment
  • Familiarity with rigging parts and working knowledge of 12 volt systems
  • Marine electronics background a plus
  • Ability to lift fifty pounds when needed, move around a dock, on a ladder, or in a tight
    space while remaining safe and without damaging property
  • Either possessing a forklift certification or willing to train in forklift operation
  • Hoisting/crane operator experience preferred
  • Must be able to go aloft
  • Ability to shift between multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to follow all company policies and procedures
  • Be able to work independently, self-motivated, and process driven
  • Have a valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Unstep and step masts, booms, and tune standing rigging
  • Connect and troubleshoot mast lights and wiring
  • Remove and install sails, canvas, biminis, and dodgers
  • Service winches, life lines, furling systems, and splice lines
  • Service steering systems and deck hardware
  • Splice lines
  • Operate hydraulic swager
  • Create estimates and repair orders
  • Ensure all rigging work is performed to the highest standard
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, follow safety rules and regulations at all times
  • Assist with boat moves, boat yard activities, and marina service as needed
  • Travel for offsite work
  • Must possess own tools
  • Answer clients’ questions about maintaining their boats
  • Maintain updated knowledge product trends and techniques
  • Lead by example in personal conduct and technical skill
